SHENB, a leading company in medical aesthetic devices, celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Renowned for its flagship products, such as PlaDuo, VirtueRF, and Shemax, SHENB has built a reputation for consistently innovating in the medical aesthetic industry. Recently, SHENB made another breakthrough by introducing its latest monopolar RF device, 'Sunny,' marking a new chapter for the company.
'Sunny' delivers at 6.78MHz, 1MHz, and 2MHz, providing a wide range of treatment options using four specialized tips: Face Tip, Eye Tip, Quasar Tip, and Blazer Tip. The standout Quasar Tip supports both monopolar and bipolar RF technologies, allowing for precise energy delivery tailored to the contours of the face. Currently under global patent application, this advanced technology promises exceptional treatment results.
We sat down with SHENB's CEO, Seon Young Kang, who led the planning and development of 'Sunny,' to learn more about the product's development, unique features, and the company's future direction.

Q: Can you briefly introduce SHENB?
A: SHENB was founded in 1999, and this year marks our 25th anniversary. While many general consumers may need to recognize our name, our products are widely used in nationwide clinics. We have been dedicated to developing medical aesthetic devices, and many doctors rely on our products for their treatments. Our flagship products include PlaDuo, VirtueRF, and Shemax, which are well-known in the medical device industry. We also developed homecare products that are available through TV home shopping channels.
Q: You've recently launched a new product called 'Sunny.' What kind of product is it?
A: 'Sunny' is an RF (radio frequency) device. Thermage is the most popular device in the RF market, but 'Sunny' is a cutting-edge product with the latest technological advancements. It was developed in Korea and has several upgraded features. Patients will experience results beyond their expectations when they undergo clinical treatment with 'Sunny.
Q: What motivated the development of 'Sunny'?
A: RF technology is an area that SHENB has researched extensively for many years. The versatility of RF technology, where different functions affect the range and effectiveness of treatments, makes it so appealing. This fascination has driven us to evolve our RF devices continuously. 'Sunny' incorporates all of our latest innovations in RF technology, and it will significantly enhance the quality of treatments provided by doctors and the results patients experience.
Q: What is the meaning behind the name 'Sunny'?
A: At SHENB, we select product names through employee competitions and voting. 'Sunny' was chosen after much deliberation from over 60 options. Interestingly, 'Sunny' is also my English name, so I initially hesitated. However, the strong recommendations from my team ultimately led to the final decision.
Some Koreans may associate the name with the famous movie Sunny, but we hope that when people hear 'Sunny,' they'll think of our device first.
Q: Can you explain some key technologies used in 'Sunny'?
A: 'Sunny' incorporates the latest advancements in RF technology, offering frequencies of 6.78MHz, 1MHz, and 2MHz. It can be used with four tips: Face Tip, Eye Tip, Quasar Tip, and Blazer Tip. No other monopolar RF device has a diverse range of functions. The device allows doctors to precisely adjust the settings to achieve optimal results for each patient.
We're particularly excited about the Quasar Tip. This innovative feature allows the alternating use of monopolar and bipolar RF technologies and can deliver energy in a way that adapts to the contours of the face. We've already launched it in Korea and are applying for global patents. I've wanted to implement Quasar Tip for years, and we expect it to deliver highly effective results. Once people experience it firsthand, they'll understand the difference.

Q: What was the most important aspect of 'Sunny's' development?
A: Before its official release, we conducted clinical trials that no other company had attempted. Thanks to the collaboration of doctors, our technical team, and university professors, we completed the trials with very positive results. These trials confirmed that our device was exceptionally well-made.
When developing a device, we emphasized making it user-friendly in clinical settings and highly effective in terms of results.
Q: What would you say to those considering monopolar RF treatments with 'Sunny'?
A: SHENB is extremely proud of 'Sunny,' a product that 'She's Best' is a prime example of. The device was designed and planned by women, and patients who undergo treatment with 'Sunny' in clinics will notice a clear difference in results compared to other devices. I encourage everyone to experience it for themselves.
